DoorBuzzin shut down. Here's how to get your buzzer working again.
If your buzzer stopped reaching you on October 1, this is why. DoorBuzzin permanently ended service on September 30, 2026, and its app no longer works. Your building's panel is still dialing the DoorBuzzin number, so visitors and couriers get nothing. The fix is one change your property manager makes, and you can choose where it points.
Try it on your own buzzer
Your property manager needs a new number from you either way. Get your Enterkey number first and make it one email.

Why your buzzer stopped working
DoorBuzzin worked by giving your unit a phone number and having your building's entry panel call it. That number has stopped answering, so the panel rings into nothing. Nothing is wrong with the panel or your phone.
DoorBuzzin's notice asks residents to have their door-entry system call a different number, and says all DoorBuzzin user information will be permanently deleted by October 14, 2026. Your old access codes and rules can't be exported, so write down which guests and couriers had codes while you still remember.
The free fix: point the buzzer back at your cell
Ask your property manager to change your directory entry to your own mobile number. It costs nothing and gets your buzzer ringing again, usually within a day. If one phone answering is all you need, stop there.
What you lose is everything DoorBuzzin added: only one phone rings, there are no codes for guests, and nobody gets in while you're asleep, in a meeting or away. If you relied on any of that, you'll want a replacement app, and since you're emailing your property manager anyway, it's the same single change.

Switch to Enterkey in about ten minutes
Enterkey does the same job DoorBuzzin did: your buzzer calls an Enterkey number, and you decide what happens next. Answer and buzz people in from anywhere, or let Enterkey answer and open the door for you.
- Download Enterkey on your iPhone and start your free month. You get a virtual number local to your area, for example a 604, 778 or 236 number in Vancouver, or a 416, 647 or 437 number in Toronto.
- Send that number to your property manager and ask them to replace the old DoorBuzzin number in your directory entry. Our property manager request template has the exact wording.
- Rebuild what you had: invite your household, add PINs for regular guests, and set schedules for the dog walker or the cleaner. Then buzz yourself from the lobby to test it.
Running a business, clinic or short-term rental?
DoorBuzzin Pro covered offices, short-term rentals and realtors. Enterkey works for them too: PINs with keys that switch off on their own for guests and clients, schedules for office hours, and a team invite so staff all get the buzz.
Front desks can run the buzzer from a computer at enterkey.app/login, so not every staff member needs an iPhone. The account itself is created once in the iPhone app. See small business clients, therapists and home office practitioners and short-term rental hosts.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep my old DoorBuzzin number?
No. The number belonged to DoorBuzzin's service, and it stopped working when the service ended. Whatever you switch to, your property manager has to update your directory entry to a new number.
Can I move my DoorBuzzin access codes over?
Not automatically. DoorBuzzin's app no longer works, and its data is being deleted. Add your regular guests as PINs in Enterkey and tell them the new code.
DoorBuzzin was free. Why pay for Enterkey?
Enterkey is one paid plan, $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year, and your first month is free, so you can try it on your own buzzer before you pay anything. If plain forwarding to your cell covers you, use that instead. It's free.
What happens to my buzzer if I cancel Enterkey?
Auto-unlock stops at the end of your billing period, and call forwarding keeps working for 14 more days, so your buzzer never goes quiet without warning. Your number is held for 30 days in case you come back.
Will Enterkey work with my building's panel?
If DoorBuzzin worked in your building, your panel already dials out to a phone number, and that's all Enterkey needs. Panels hardwired to an in-unit landline are the only ones that don't work, and DoorBuzzin couldn't use those either.
