A midday walk only works if the walker can get through the entrance while you are at work, and a spare key handed to a stranger is a poor answer that most renters accept anyway. A midday walk is a routine, not a visit
A walker comes at roughly the same time, on the same days, for months. That is exactly the shape a recurring schedule fits: set the days, the unlock time and the lock time once, and the entrance handles it every week without you touching anything.
Compare that with the usual arrangements. A spare key lives in a lockbox or somebody's pocket until you change the locks. A concierge, if you have one, is a favour you keep asking for. A call at 11:04 drags you out of a meeting to approve a person you already hired.
A code they can say out loud
Panel keypads are filthy, stiff, or missing buttons, and a walker usually has a leash in one hand. Enterkey accepts a PIN spoken aloud as readily as typed, so four digits said into the panel open the entrance on a match.

Knowing the walk happened
Every entry lands in the activity log with the time and the key or schedule that opened the door. That is the plain version of the thing you actually wonder about at three in the afternoon, which is whether the dog got out.
The activity log in the app shows a time and which key or schedule opened the entrance, and nothing else. For a routine visit that is enough, and what you are looking at is a door record rather than a register of everyone who comes to your home.
How it works, step by step
Set the window to the walk, not the day
Create a schedule for Monday to Friday, unlocking at 11:00 and locking at 11:30. Half an hour is generous for a walker working a route of six dogs.
Give the schedule its own code
Add a PIN so the window is gated rather than simply open to whoever presses your unit number at eleven. The walker can type it or say it.
Send the code, not a key
Text the digits once. There is nothing physical to hand over, nothing to lose on a route, and nothing that can be copied at a hardware store on the way home.
The walker buzzes, says the code, and goes up
Enterkey checks the code, plays the entry tone, and opens the entrance. Your phone stays quiet, which is the entire point on a workday.
Retire the window when the arrangement ends
Edit or delete the schedule and the access is gone when you save it. No overlap period, no former walker with a standing way into your building.
Frequently asked questions
I booked through Rover. Does the sitter need anything from me?
Only the code. Whoever the platform sends uses the panel the way any visitor would: press the unit, say the digits, walk in. Enterkey has no connection to a booking platform and does not need one.
Send it in the platform's own chat the way you would send a gate code, and it works on the first visit.
What if the walk time moves?
Edit the unlock and lock times. Schedules are edited rather than tapped on purpose, so a repeating window cannot be armed or killed by a stray thumb on the dashboard.
For a one-off change, a single key covers the odd Tuesday at two without disturbing the weekly pattern at all.
Can I cut the access off immediately?
Yes. Changing the PIN or removing the schedule takes effect the moment you save it. That is the practical difference between a code and a spare key: one ends when you decide, the other ends when you rekey a door.
Does my sitter need an iPhone?
No. Enterkey is an iPhone app for the resident. The sitter only ever interacts with the panel in your lobby, the same panel they use at every other client's building.
